This blog is about my ride from Turkey to India beginning in April 2008. From Antalya through Syria, Iran, a dash through Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, briefly Kyrgyzstan, a corner of China and then Pakistan and into India and perhaps Nepal. OK they’re not all bad or mad, and Iran is regarded by travellers as one of the most friendly countries on Earth but most have troubled histories and I don’t expect most of them to get better any time soon. So no point in waiting, then!
Please click on the tabs at the top of the blog, eg. ‘The Plan‘ for an outline map and notes on the route, ‘about me‘ for a little background, and so on. At some point I shall put in something about the rubbish (no, it’s gear!) I will be carrying with me, as although it may seem utterly tedious to some, it’s interesting to others and sometimes helpful too and I’ve often regretted not drawing up a list and more usefully, weighing it all before I set off on a trip.
