I have worked in an outdoor travel shop for the past three years hence the following meticulous/anal account of gear (notice not weight though). I intend to do a couple of gear reviews on the way but we’ll see how that goes. Whilst the gear and weight is significant, once you’re on the road your physical and mental well being is far more important than any of the equipment you’re using and essentially you could do this trip in flip-flops on a penny farthing its just a matter of determination and a very strong coccyx.
